ANCFZ Partners with Thara Hub to Turbocharge Ajman’s Startup Ecosystem

Ajman NuVentures Centre Free Zone (ANCFZ) is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thara Entrepreneurship Hub Ajman, marking a strategic collaboration to support and nurture startups and innovative ventures in the Emirate.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Rishi Somaiya, CEO of Ajman NuVentures Centre Free Zone, and Mr. Marwan Harib, CEO of Thara Entrepreneurship Hub to strengthen a shared commitment and build a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem that drives innovation and sustainable growth.

Through this partnership, ANCFZ and Thara Entrepreneurship Hub will offer business setup support, mentorship programs, workspace solutions, and access to strategic opportunities; empowering startups to grow and succeed within Ajman’s dynamic business landscape.

The collaboration aims to inspire innovation, empower entrepreneurs, and shape the future of the UAE’s startup community.

What the agreement covers

The MoU sets out four areas of joint work: business setup support, mentorship programmes, workspace, and access to opportunities in Ajman.

The setup side, in practice

A startup registering with ANCFZ can be a Free Zone Establishment with a single shareholder or a Free Zone Company with up to 50 shareholders. Foreign founders can own 100 percent of the company, and most activities carry no minimum paid-up capital requirement. The company types page sets out each structure.

The licence covers more than 3,500 approved activities, including software development, IT services, marketing consultancy, e-commerce, blockchain, artificial intelligence and gaming. Up to 10 activities can sit on a single licence, so a company that builds a product and sells services alongside it does not need two licences.

Registration takes about two hours once documents are complete, and residence visas are issued within 24 to 48 hours of registration. One-year packages start at AED 4,888 without a visa and AED 10,800 with one visa, paid in advance. Licences are renewed annually, and renewal can usually be done online without shareholders travelling to the UAE.

Documents needed to register are passport copies of shareholders and directors, passport photographs, proof of residence, and the application form with proposed company names.
